Confirmed: Thomas Vermaelen out for two weeks with hamstring injury

Thomas Vermaelen will be out of action for two weeks. The statement released by Barcelona on Monday confirmed that the Belgian suffered a hamstring strain at the end of the first half of the game against Real Betis.
After tests at the training ground on Monday morning, following an initial anlysis at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday evening, the extent of Vermaelen's injury was confirmed.
The club said: "FC Barcelona’s medical services have confirmed that Thomas Vermaelen has a hamstring injury in his left leg and tests on Monday have ascertained that the Belgian defender will be out for around two weeks."
Therefore, Vermaelen, who has successfully featured in Barça's last 13 games, will be out for a couple of weeks and could miss the following games:

- 28 / 1 / 2018: FC Barcelona - Alavés (Liga Santander)
- 31 / 1 / 2018: Copa del Rey semifinal
