Coach Xavi uses forward Dembele as the example to follow at Barcelona
The Frenchman's form is impressing despite his contract situation
Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has used Ousmane Dembele's form as an example for the rest of his squad, despite the controversy around the Frenchman's contract situation.
According to El Chiringuito, Xavi held a meeting with the team on Tuesday following the loss to Cadiz to reflect ahead of the final seven games of the season.
Per the report, he wanted to transmit the squad that it would be much more serious to slip away in LaLiga than it was to exit the Europa League.
He had a separate conversation with three players that had a certain reprehensible attitude towards the team's game. They were Memphis Depay, Clément Lenglet and Frenkie de Jong.
Surprisingly, Xavi used Dembele as "an example of commitment" in the squad in recent games. "Look at him, and he doesn't even have a contract (beyond this season)," Xavi said.
