The French defender is poised to join the London side next season
Clement Lenglet has passed his medical at Tottenham. The English side and the French footballer are finalising the paperwork and he will join them this season. We will have to see if that’s on loan or if there’s an option to buy.
The English side has found a market opportunity with a player who started well at Barcelona but has not performed at the same level over the past two seasons.
Lenglet will try to recover his confidence in London and bring his career back to life. At 27 years old he is reaching his best years for a centre-back. His exit seemed unthinkable after his first great season but that’s football.
Forming a partner with Pique, he continued his fine Sevilla form. He was elegant at bringing out the ball and trustworthy. A perception which changed in the years since, appearing to go through a big crisis of confidence.
Under Antonio Conte he has a chance to find his best form again and try to go to the World Cup with France.
