Clément Lenglet: Barça push for Saudi move, but the player prefers Tottenham

The centre-back had already reached a pre-agreement with the English club for 3 years

Barça are in a hurry to close out player sales. The club want to move Dest, Lenglet and Kessié on before the start of La Liga and the French centre-back is the closest to finalizing a move.

The club have received a proposal from Al Nasr of Saudi Arabia, but the centre-back is not sure about going there and prioritises a move to Tottenham, with whom he has already reached a pre-agreement for three seasons. Barça want a fee of 15 million euros, which the Arabian club is willing to pay, but the Spurs aren't.

The Lenglet case is gaining momentum and may even be resolved before the next week. For now, the centre-back is aware of the Saudi proposal but hopes that Barça and Tottenham can reach an amicable agreement.

The English club have worked hard to keep him at the club for the next three seasons, but understand that they cannot pay more than a symbolic amount for the transfer.

Barça, given their economic turmoil, would benefit hugely from the 15 million euros, a figure that Al Nasr would pay.

The sports area of the Blaugrana club are in contact with his entourage and there may be a new squeeze with Tottenham to try to reach a solution. Next week, the English club are coming to Barcelona to play the Gamper and both parties would like to have everything taken care of then.

Tottenham on their end are financially constrained until they reach an agreement to sell Harry Kane to Bayern - which appears to be very close - and that has been delaying all their other market negotiations.
