Chelsea interesting in signing Barca duo Ferran Torres and Raphinha

The news at Camp Barça shows no signs of stopping. Amid all the rumors surrounding Cancelo and Joao Félix as potential signings, two unexpected figures have entered the fray in this transfer window: Ferran Torres and Raphinha are now on Chelsea's radar to bolster their attacking options. Approaches could be made in the coming hours.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the London-based club has turned its attention to the two Barcelona wingers to finalize their squad for the 2022-2023 season. Despite having already spent over £350 million this summer, Stamford Bridge seems eager to secure more deals in these last days of the transfer window. Anything can happen until August 31st at 00:00.

The purse strings are being loosened by Todd Boehly

Transfers between Chelsea and Barcelona are not uncommon. Last year, it was Aubameyang who packed his bags for London, and now two other Barça players could follow the same route. Mauricio Pochettino, the new head honcho at the Blues, is interested in Ferran Torres and Raphinha.

Ferran Torres has had a strong start to the season under Xavi Hernández's guidance, scoring two crucial goals in the first three league matches. However, the club might consider his departure if a very good offer arrives. He was signed for €55 million in January 2022, and the truth is that his standout performances have been few and far between. Ferran Torres could find consistency in England.

On the flip side, there's Raphinha, a player who had a solid first year as a Blaugrana and was set to be a starter this year due to Ousmane Dembélé's absence. However, the unexpected rise of Lamine Yamal is putting pressure on him for the right-wing position. According to the Daily Mail, the Argentine coach is quite fond of the Brazilian winger for his revamped Chelsea side. Raphinha possesses skill and flair that could compensate for the injured Nkunku, who won't be back until at least 2024.

Raphinha was already in Chelsea's sights last year. Both Barcelona and Chelsea were competing for the former Leeds player, who had an excellent campaign at Elland Road. Ultimately, the Catalan side secured his services for €65 million.

There hasn't been a formal offer on the table yet, and Barça isn't currently considering selling these two players. Both players intend to stay with the team.
