Jordi Alba was one of the stars of Friday's FC Barcelona training session. The squad and coaching staff congratulated the player from L'Hospitalet on his 450th appearance for the blaugrana.
It's a great achievement, and one that also means going one step further in the club's history.
Against Manchester United, Jordi Alba equalled Carles Rexach in historic matches and climbed to ninth place in the ranking. He will be tied for a few days, with an opportunity this Sunday against Cádiz to push Carles down the list.
Before the squads' usual training session, a commemorative T-shirt with the figure of 450 and a family photograph with his teammates and the coach, Xavi Hernandez was presented to the player.
Alba celebrated his birthday as a starter in the European match against Manchester United. And he did it in a special way, as he was the captain of the team, since Sergio Busquets is injured and Sergi Roberto started from the bench.
Far away from Valdes
Ahead of Jordi Alba is Víctor Valdés, who is eighth all-time. The goalkeeper made 536 appearances for Barça, so the full-back still has a long way to go to catch him.
