Carles Puyol honoured at the San Mames
Athletic Club gave him a One Club Man prize on Saturday
Carles Puyol, an FC Barcelona player between 1999 and 2014, recieved an award from Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, recognising his status as a One Club Man.
The former Barcelona player was applauded by the San Mames during half-time of Athletic Bilbao vs Real Betis, receiving the award from Jose Angel Iribar, a Bilbao legend.
Puyol received a Bilbao shirt with his name on it and No 5, signed by all the Bilbao squad. He was also pictured with Cuco Ziganda the coach and the team at the San Mames.
Each year they choose a new player, with Puyol, joining Sepp Maier (2017), Paolo Maldini (2016) and Matt Le Tissier (2015).
