The Barca midfielder, on loan at Getafe, spoke about the Dutchman and his switch

Carles Alena was presented as a Barca player on Monday along with Take Kubo, after their respective loan moves. He was asked about Ronald Koeman and the Catalan giants.

“I don’t think Koeman let me down, in the end there are players ahead of you and you have to be brave. I could have stayed at Barca but I needed minutes and (Jose) Bordalas put his confidence in me from the start.”

Carles explained that his new coach wants him to do what he does best.

“Bordalas only told me to play how I know, I have to work harder in defence. The confidence the coach put in me was what I needed for me to come here. I’m very grateful.”

Alena will meet his former Barca B team-mate Cucurella there.

“Cucurella spoke well of the club to me, I trust him a lot and I’m very happy,” added Alena. “I want to feel like a player again, get the protagonism that I need. I’m in good shape.”
