Cancelo could replace Semedo if right-back leaves Barcelona
Manchester City are also hopeful of signing the Juventus right-back
While Barcelona's players are on holiday, the club continues to work on getting the best possible squad in place for the new season.
Even though a lot of the attention is on Neymar and Antoine Griezmann, there are other cases open in terms of incomings and outgoings.
One of the players that could leave is Nelson Semedo. The Portugal right-back has been in and out of the team since signing from Benfica in 2017. At 25, he has a good reputation across Europe.
Atletico Madrid want to sign him. His release clause if 100 million euros, but the Rojiblanco are confident that Barça would be prepared to include him in a deal for Griezmann.
If Semedo does leave, Barça are already lining up a replacement. It's another Portuguese player: Juventus's Joao Cancelo, who joined the Serie A side for 40.4 million from Valencia last summer.
Manchester City are ready to pay 60 million for Cancelo, who is also 25, but new Juve coach Sarri wants him to stay. All things considered, it wouldn't be a cheap deal.
Bayern Munich have also been linked but for Barça to move for Cancelo they would first have to sanction Semedo's departure.
