Caminero confirms Atletico's desperation to keep Griezmann
Atletico are trying to stop Griezmann from moving to Barcelona
José Luis Pérez Caminero, coordinator of professional football at Atletico Madrid, has admitted the club are doing everything they can to stop Antoine Griezmann moving to Barcelona.
"The club are doing everything possible for Griezmann to stay and to feel valued," Caminero told beIN Sports in an interview before Wednesday's Europa League final against Marseille.
"Right now, we're only thinking about football. We go into the final desperate to win it and after that the decisions don't always depend on the club. What we want is to win th cup so thatr the fans are happy."
Atletico released a statement last week criticising Barca's attempts to sign Griezmann, who is available for his 100 million euro release clause from July 1.
Barça are prepared to pay a little bit more if it means an agreement can be reached with Atletico before then and Griezmann has said he wants his future resolved before the World Cup.
