Busquets: Barça excited to take good form into Spanish Super Cup
The midfielder made his 600th appearance for the club at the weekend
Sergio Busquets spoke to FC Barcelona's official media channels about the upcoming Spanish Super Cup and his "pride" at reaching 600 games for the club in Saturday's 4-0 win against Granada.
Barça kick off their Super Cup campaign against Real Sociedad on Wednesday, with the winners facing Athletic Club or Real Madrid in the final.
"We're really excited going into it because we're on a good run and there's a positive dynamic which we hope shows in this tournament," Busquets said.
"We're close to the first title of the season and we're really looking forward to fighting for it."
The midfielder added: "We're going through a good moment. We knew we weren't getting the results we wanted at first, but the path was there because we were having a lot of chances, but we were not getting results and we were losing because of isolated mistakes.
"But the team is much more solid now, we are full of confidence, the chances keep coming, the goals are going in and that makes things easier. I hope that keeps going to grow as a team."
Game 600
As for making his 600th appearance for the first team, Busquets said: "I am really happy and proud to reach that number that only three have had, becoming the fourth. And what players! (Messi, Xavi, Iniesta). I have had them as teammates and it means a lot for Barça and for football."
