Burnley interested in Barca keeper Arnau Tenas

Just when it seemed that Arnau Tenas' future was far from Camp Nou, as he himself confirmed, FC Barcelona have opened the door to renewing the goalkeeper from Vic. The player's people have responded to the reports by reminding everyone that the clause that the club could activate to automatically extend the goalkeeper's contract expired on June 15, so the club's management will have to negotiate with the player's representatives if they want to avoid his departure as a free agent on June 30.

In this context, several clubs are keeping a close eye on Tenas' situation. The La Masia product is a very young goalkeeper (22 years old) who has a promising future and some top level European technical teams are interested in his services. One of them is Burnley, who have just been promoted to the Premier League after a spectacular season (they finished the Championship season with 101 points). Vincent Kompany, their coach, is committed to positional play and has called for the goalkeeping position to be reinforced with the arrival of a player who is a master of the ball.

Tenas obviously meets the Belgian coach's requirements. His good footwork is very attractive for a team that tries to take care of the ball and apply a style of play similar to that of Barça. At Turf Moor they are keeping a close eye on everything that is happening with the Blaugrana goalkeeper. If the Catalan club fail to convince Arnau, Burnley are likely to launch their offensive and make a bid.

The player, at the moment, is fully focused on the U21 European Championship. This Saturday, at 21.00 CET Spain will play the quarter-finals against Switzerland.
