The Brazilian defender nodded home in the last minute of stoppage time against a Messi-less Argentina
Argentina, without Barcelona star Lionel Messi, fell 1-0 against bitter rivals Brazil in Saudi Arabia in a friendly on Monday.
Messi is taking time out from the international scene after World Cup 2018 disappointment this summer.
Inter Milan defender Miranda scored the winner from a Neymar corner after threatening from the same situation in the first half.
“I’m very happy, first of all to help my team-mates, and scoring against Argentina is exciting and gratifying,” said Miranda after the game.
“The goal is dedicated to this who believed in me and supported me, to my family. Today’s it’s been 16 years since I met my partner and I’m emotional.”
Paulo Dybala started for Argentina but failed to score again, making it 16 matches running without a goal for his country.
