Martin Braithwaite was a luxury spectator at his own presentation. The new Barcelona striker watched lots of questions go to president Josep Maria Bartomeu and sporting director Eric Abidal but only two to him. Before the press conference started he said: "It's very special for me and all my family. This is something I've worked really hard for a long time (to get to here) and I'm ready to get started."
Asked about playing with Messi he said “Barcelona play the best football in the world. Of course, I’ve been studying them. It’s what I’ve done and what I’ll do in the next couple of days. I’ll be in the right areas at the right moment.”
Asked how he felt when he heard about Barcelona's interest, he said: “I was surprised in the moment but not that surprised. I’ve been seeing this in my head for many years and it’s my ambition to play at this level. If you work hard and you’re positive it can move mountains for you.”
