Bitter farewell for Seri
Nápolei knockl out Nice and Seri could not bow out with a win in front of the home crowd
He played the 90 minutes, was booked and struggled defensively
Seri suffered a bitter end to his time at Nice last night as they crashed out of the Champions League against Napoli. Seri showed some nice touches, particularly when playing the ball short, but was outnumbered by Napoli’s midfield as his team went down 2-0. Seri played quite deep to try to give his time defensive stability but he was overrun by Napoli’s forwards and received a yellow card.
Goals from Callejón and Insigne were enough to confirm Napoli in the group stages of the Champions League.
Things will be different for him in Barcelona. He will be in a team expected to dominate games and have more control than Nice showed on Tuesday. It is expected he will play as part of a double pivot in a 4-2-3-1 or as a midfielder in a 4-3-3.
This was surely Seri’s last game for Nice and a deal with Barça could be agreed in the next few days.
