The Polish striker is a target for the Catalans for next season

Bayern Munich don’t want to make it easy for Robert Lewandowski to leave the club. The Polish striker, a Barcelona target, has a deal until 2023. The Bavarians, in public at least, are standing firm against the idea of a deal for him to leave.

Honorary president Uli Hoeness spoke to BR. “I assume 100 per cent that Lewandowski will play at Bayern next season,” he said. “He has a contract, it’s that simple.”

There are stories that Bayern would accept around 40m euros for the forward who is 33 years old. He would like to play for Barcelona.

Hoeness also ratified coach Julian Nagelsmann despite the early Champions League elimination by Villarreal.

“Julian is an exception, an exceptional talent, an exceptional person. We are very happy to have him with us. We have more to come.”
