Bayern, Inter and Plzen are Barça's Champions League rivals in the Group stage

FC Barcelona aim to start their Champions League campaign with great ambitions and will look to remedy their last season's failure. Armed with an upgraded squad, Xavi Hernandez paid close attention this Thursday afternoon to the draw for the group stage of the Champions League 2022-2023, which was held in Istanbul.

Barça are in group C and are set to face Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen in the first round.

FC Barcelona were in pot 2 and, similar to the previous editions, the draw couldn't pit them against teams from the same country until the quarter-finals.

What Barça do not know yet are the exact dates of their matches, and will have to wait until Saturday at the latest, as announced by UEFA.

Istanbul, the venue for the draw, will also host the final of this edition of the Champions League, which will be interrupted during November and December by the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

The final will be played on 10 June 2023, at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

Before the start of the World Cup, the Champions League will complete the group stages of the competition, which will include six matches for FC Barcelona, with three of them at Camp Nou.
