Bartomeu: There are weeks to go in the window, there could be more signings

The Barcelona president spoke to supporters at an event on Sunday

FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke to supporters at the 40th Congreso Mundial de Peñas on Sunday before the Joan Gamper Trophy game against Arsenal.

After thanking the fans for their loyalty, he said: "We have a stronger squad, with more potential. And possibly today we will announce a new signing," in reference to Junior Firpo, whose arrival was later confirmed.

In addition, the Barça chief added: "There are still weeks left before the transfer window closes and there could be another signing."

For Bartomeu, the challenge "is to keep giving continuity to the most successful era in the history of the Barça" because "we have an ambitious and extraordinary squad led by the best player in the world and in the history of the game, Leo Messi."

Bartomeu also thanked Jordi Mestre and Pep Segura for their hard work at the club and welcomed Patrick Kluivert into his new role as director of the academy.
