Bartomeu: Neymar will renew his contract in the coming days
Josep Maria Bartomeu has stated that the contract renewal of Neymar will be finalised in the new few days with an official announcement from Barça.
The president was speaking on Thursday at a press conference regarding the 2015/16 season and acknowledged the speculation that had been surrounding the Brazilian's future at the Camp Nou.
"Neymar wants to continue at the club and the club wants him to continue," Bartomeu began, "I don't know if it will be today, tomorrow or the day after, but in the coming days we will confirm his renewal for another five seasons.
"He has never said that he wanted to leave the club. The club's lawyers and Neymar are closing the final details [of the contract] over the coming days."
Bartomeu added: "For months we've established a new form of control for things to be done well at the club in all areas and also this, given our situation and us being watched carefully over the details of the new contract."
The 53-year-old also was pleased with the Blaugrana's last campaign that culminated in the league and Copa del Rey double. Luis Enrique has now won seven out of a possible nine trophies in his two seasons as Barça coach.
