Bartomeu explains Barcelona's plans in the winter transfer market

The president said that the sporting director is working and paying a lot of attention to the market

FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke about many topics at his end of 2016 press conference. Among them was if Barcelona would make any moves in the winter transfer market or not. The president said that the sporting director is working and paying a lot of attention to the market.

“I don’t think I can say if we will do something or not,” said Bartomeu. “It’s the work of Robert Fernandez, who is always analysing the market. We will not close any window, we have to be aware of what’s going on, but it’s another thing to do something or not. We have to look to see if there’s a position we need to reinforce, the economic limits, everything is subject to a series of concepts, but I can say for now we have nothing on the table. And neither have we received any offers.”

Bartomeu added: “it’s another story if a player comes to us and asks to leave, like what happened with Pedro, but nothing is planned. We have a small squad and it’s not expected that we will sell anyone, not Aleix Vidal, not any other player.”
