Barcelona Josep María Bartomeu has admitted that last October he made contacts with the agent of Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann but said that this meeting led to a lot of speculation.
He also said he maintains a good relationship with Atletico Madrid.
"Now is the time to analyse the season and start to prepare for the next one," Bartomeu said in an interview with radio station Rac1.
"I saw Griezmann last summer. We met with him like we meed with other players, but we didn't have lunch together."
Bartomeu also confirmed meetings with the Frenchman's agent.
"We have a relationship with his agent like we do with other agents. It was last October, we had a meeting, but nothing more. You don't have to start speculation."
Bartomeu also said he still had a good relationship with Atletico even after the meeting, which Atletico condemned.
"We spoke to (Atletico president) Cerezo and (chief executive) Gil Marin about many things. We have a good relationship between the two clubs. But now is not the time to talk about that. We shouldn't talk about players who are at other clubs."
