Barcelona's ultimatum "a cause for laughter" in Dembele's camp

The French forward is in the final six months of his deal at Camp Nou

Barcelona's ultimatum to Ousmane Dembele has not impressed the player or his agent because they feel that any scenario which comes from now will be beneficial for them. They feel they have the ace up their sleeve.

Barça's director of football Mateu Alemany has urged the French player to make a decision on the offer the club have put on the table to renew. Alemany even commented in the Ferran Torres presentation that he hopes to have the Fair Play issue resolved by Sunday, which could be the deadline he's given to Dembele's camp. The player has spoken with Xavi and Alemany, who denied there will be more meetings, just a response needed from the agents.

SPORT have learned, though, that Ousmane's agents are in no rush and are still listening to offers from other clubs. They're just focused on getting the best club and the best offer for the forward's career and won't heed to Barça's needs just because they need to register Ferran Torres.

Dembele has the chance to renew but if he doesn't there are three possibilities: keep him until the end of the season, transfer him now or let him leave for free. The latter two options would enable them to register Torres. But it's the signing of the Spain international that has made Dembele change his plans. He was convinced he would continue at Camp Nou until the announce Torres for an operation that could be worth up to 65 million euros.

After seeing that, the Dembele camp are not thinking of doing Barça any favours. If they do, it's on their terms. For that reason, Alemany's ultimatum was "a cause for laughter" among his camp.
