Barcelona's Todibo close to Nice loan after nightmare spell at Benfica
The defender is set to return to France on loan until the summer
There's light at the end of the tunnel for Jean-Clair Todibo with French side Nice prepared to rescue him from his Benfica nightmare.
Nice have reached an agreement with Barcelona to take Todibo on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
Benfica are prepared to release Todibo from his loan early and there's hope from all implicated parties than an agreement can be closed before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Todibo, 23, joined Benfica on loan last summer but he's not convinced the coaching staff in Lisbon, making just two appearances, both in cup games.
Both of those appearances came this month, with the French defender not making his debut with the club until Jan. 12, 2021.

Koeman has been offered the chance to add Todibo to his backline given his lack of options there but the Dutch coach turned it down as he feels his lack of match action would be a problem.
In the summer, if Nice don't pursue their option to buy, Todibo will return to Camp Nou once again and Barça, with a new president in place, will decide what the next step is.
