Barcelona's prudent plan with Pedri with clásico on Oct. 28 in mind

The midfielder will not be rushed back as Barça are well stocked in midfield

Barcelona's coaching staff want to take no risks with Pedri. The Canary Islander has to be a fundamental part of the team this season and, therefore, it is essential not to force his return. Past experiences have led to prudence being the best advice to guide the return of the Blaugrana No.8.

The good form of Gavi, Romeu and De Jong, as well as the growth of Gundogan, means that no risks should be taken. In addition, his right hamstring injury of three weeks ago requires a proper recovery.

Progressive return

So far, the gym has been the midfield genius's companion for his recovery work.

In a few days, though, Pedri will be back on the grass of the training pitches of the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper. Returning to work on his own will be a step forward, but the scenario of rejoining the group is not yet contemplated. A positive evolution of individual work will facilitate the jump to train with the rest of his teammates later.

When will he be back?

Pedri's return to the pitch is ruled out for Barça's next six games.

The last game before the next international break will be against Granada on 8 October.

Barça's plan is for Pedri to return in mid to late October. The match against Athletic Bilbao on 22 October will be the first post-break. One game on the calendar is the clásico, scheduled for 28 October.

If Pedri's physical evolution is positive, it is hoped that the Canary Islander will be fit enough to play against Los Blancos.
