The Catalan club want one base this year to cut down on travel time

FC Barcelona continue to work on their pre-season tour. The marketing department does so in conjunction with the club's sporting department.

The plans are not yet finalised but little by little they are taking shape. The idea is to start on the 19th of July and finish on the 30th of the same month. Three matches would be played on the West Coast of the United States against opponents yet to be determined, although they are working towards one of them being Real Madrid. Last summer's clásico in Las Vegas left a profit of €10 million and they want to repeat it.

Barça have decided to change with the usual tour format and will copy what Madrid did last pre-season. In order to avoid sudden changes in temperature and cities where they can't train well because of the heat, they have decided to set up a base camp, with Los Angeles being the chosen city.

Three cities

Xavi Hernandez's team would play one match in this city and the club is working to play the others in San Francisco and Miami. The idea is to travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco, play and return to base camp after the match. The last match would be played in Miami and from there the whole expedition would return to Barcelona once the game is over.
