Pre-season training will begin at the Ciutat Esportiva on July 12

The team will then travel to the U.S for games vs. Juve, United & Real

Even without knowing who the new manager will be, Barcelona are working on the 2017-18 season. The news is that the team will return to training a little earlier than previous campaigns, with July 12 chosen as the perfect day for the players to return from their holidays.

Keeping in mind the first team's season ends on May 27 with the Copa del Rey final, the players will have a total of 45 days off. Also news -- and something which won't be repeated often -- is that the new managers will be able to count on all his players from day one, with the exception of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andre Gomes (potential Confederations Cup duty) and any summer signings which may be made later. That's because this summer there's no World Cup, Euros, Copa America or Olympics. Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez will all be back on the same day as the rest of their team-mates.

In addition, it has to be remembered that the team will travel to New York on July 19 to begin their tour of the U.S. They will play three games while they are in the States: Juventus (New York, July 22), Manchester United (Washington, July 26) and Real Madrid (Miami, July 29).

If they win the Copa del Rey, too, they will have to play the Spanish Super Cup, which will take place in the middle of August.

The new coach will have be thrown straight into the thick of it, with the tour and the potential Super Cup meaning he will be busy from the off.
