Vlahovic and Isak are also on the list as Barça look for a new No.9

Barcelona as a club and coach Xavi Hernandez are obsessed with signing a top striker to lead the club's new sporting project.

They have been working for a long time on Erling Haaland and there's a chance they could bring the Borussia Dortmund star to Camp Nou.

Haaland would be happy to make the move the but the issue is financial, with Barça unable to pay as much as some of Europe's top clubs.

There's a long way to go in the race for Haaland, with Real Madrid also there, but Barça are also exploring other options in case they miss out on the Norway international.

One of the players Xaci likes is Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic. He's a pure No.9 but there are doubts about how he would do in Spain or England. And his price would be over 60 million euros.

Also on the list is Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak. There have been talks before and he was open to moving to Barça over the Premier League, but everything was parked when he renewed in San Sebastian, with his clause rising to 90 million.

His age (22), quality and performances in LaLiga play in his favour. However, it still won't be an easy deal to pull off.

What Barça are clear on is that by March or April they will know if they have a real chance with Haaland or if he will have slipped away from them.

Financially they are working on an operation that they believe would help them return to the summit of the game.

They want Alvaro Morata for now, but Xavi is clear that he needs a player capable of scoring at least 20 goals per season and leading the team in attack. Haaland, Vlahovic and Isak are on the list.
