Barcelona's old friend Cakir to referee Liverpool second leg
Turkish referee Cakir will be in charge of the game at Anfield against Liverpool
UEFA have announced the officials for Liverpool v Barcelona (0-3) at Anfield on Tuesday. Cuneyt Cakir will be in charge of the semi-final second leg.
It is the second time this season that he referees Barcelona. He was in charge of the 0-0 draw in France against Lyon in the last 16 first leg.
Cakir, 42, has refereed Barcelona eight times already in his career. A year ago he was in charge of the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
He also whistled the 2015 Champions League final win over Juventus (3-1), as well as the 1-1 draw at Ruben Kazan in 10-11, 2-0 win at Benfica in 12-13, the 6-1 thrashing of Roma in 15-16 and the 2-0 win at Arsenal in 14-15.
Cakir also refereed Barcelona in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the 2012 semi-final second leg, where the Catalans were eliminated after a 1-0 first leg defeat.
