Luis Enrique knows that without Sergio Busquets there's no balance

They admit it was an error not to sign a player with similar characteristics

Barcelona’s new Champions League debacle has caused a lot of debate and the coaches are analysing what happened in Turin against Juventus. They know that PSG demanded a lot from the team physically, but against Juventus they think a big part of the problem was caused by the absence of Sergio Busquets.

For Luis Enrique and his assistants, the absence of the central midfielder is fundamental, because without him the team is not balanced and easily broken. Juventus took advantage to win 3-0 and take a step towards the semi-finals.

It’s evident that Luis Enrique knows the difference the three up front make, above all Messi, but also that without balance the ball does not flow to them easily and without winning it back quickly, there is no capacity for surprise.

In the absence of Busquets there is also self-criticism for the make-up of the squad. And it’s that Barcelona have never signed a player with similar characteristics to him. In Turin Mascherano played the role but he did not occupy all the space he needed to and Juve took advantage with two goals. Meanwhile Andre Gomes is widely criticised for his performances and Lucho didn’t want to start him in a game like this.
