Madrid have to face a fair few former Barcelona players in the coming weeks

Munir and Sandro are the two that could cause the most damage to Los Blancos' ambitions

Montoya, Munir, Lombán, Samper, Cuenca, Sergi Gómez, Fontàs, Carles Planas and Sandro Ramírez. In that order go the former (or on loan) Barcelona players who will take on Real Madrid in the final league games of the season. Some with a stronger Blaugrana feeling than others, some with a more important role in the team than others. But they will all do everything they can to leave the title in the hands of Luis Enrique’s side.

On Saturday at 4.15pm Montoya and Munir El Haddadi visit the Santiago Benrabeu with Valencia. Both are starters.

Then next week Madrid visit a practically relegated Granada with Lomban, Samper and Cuenca in their ranks. The latter two have played for Barcelona’s first team, but Lomban only reached Barcelona B. It seems impossible that they will shock Madrid, but we will see.

In the penultimate week, after hosting Sevilla at the Bernabeu, Madrid visit Balaidos. Celta are clearly a club who can cause Madrid problems. Not just for their level of play but for the fact Luis Enrique coached them before moving to Barcelona. Sergi Gomes, Fontas and Planas, three players who spent years at Barcelona, will be in charge of revving up their team-mates to take on Los Blancos. The handicap that Celta have is that they may still be going in the Europa League and more interested in that.

Finally on the final day, Barcelona can’t be too optimistic that Malaga will upset Madrid after their manager and president’s recent comments. However Sandro Ramirez, one of the most in form strikers in La Liga would love to score against Los Blancos and do his old side a favour. Can he overcome the Madridista sentiment that seems to be rife elsewhere at Malaga?
