Luis Rubiales, the RFEF chief, will not go to the game at Camp Nou this weekend against Levante

Barcelona’s La Liga title celebrations on Saturday, should they beat Levante, will not involve the actual trophy. Out of respect for Levante and taking into account that Barcelona are not mathematically champions, RFEF president Luis Rubiales has decided to delay his trip to Barcelona and consequently the delivery of the trophy to the Catalans.

Rubiales thought about the pros and cons and decided not to attend on Saturday, with his presence potentially showing what he thinks of the potential result before the game. He will only come when the league is won.

Even though the trophy is already in Barcelona and the Catalans could even be champions before kick off if Atletico lose, in the end he will give the trophy to Barcelona against Getafe on May 12, as long as they have won it by then.
