The striker is of interest to the Catalan club with his contract expiring

Barcelona's director of football, Mateu Alemany, warned a few months ago that the club would be very attentive to the market for free transfers moving forward.

The Blaugrana are in advanced negotiations with at least two players who are out of contract next summer and in January they will make a decision on Youssoufa Moukoko, one of the great sensations in the Bundesliga at 18 years old.

Barça like the striker a lot, but the operation has some risks, so nothing has been decided. In January, Barça will be clear about whether to go for the player or wait to see how he matures.

Barça have been well-informed about Moukoko and both sporting and personal reports are excellent. The club know the attacker would like to play at Camp Nou, but also that his priority right now is to renew his contract with Borussia Dortmund.

Moukoko is very grateful to the German club for the opportunities they have given him and that have allowed him to play in the World Cup with Germany despite his young age.

That said, there is still no agreement with Dortmund as Moukoko demands a low release clause. He is aware of the interest from many European clubs and he does not want to close any doors.

Barça are also clear that the economic demands for him to leave Dortmund are very high and that makes his incorporation come with some risk. Moukoko has performed well in Germany, but it would be necessary to see what fit he would have in a Barça team full of quality forwards alongside his objective of having regular minutes.

Chelsea have also approached Moukoko in recent weeks, but it seems he would only give the green light to his departure if he joined Barça. Otherwise, he will continue in the Bundesliga knowing that Dortmund is a selling club and that his opportunity will come.
