Barcelona will kick off league season against Villarreal at home
The game will be on September 27 or 28, the third week of the campaign
La Liga's draw was conducted on Monday to set up the coming season. The first week fixtures see Barcelona face Elche. However things are not as they seem.
Because they finished the current season late due to coronavirus, Barcelona won't play until September 27 or 28, when the season begins on September 12.
So instead of playing Elche, they kick off at home against Villarreal. Likely fans won't be back in the stadium by this point, for Koeman's first match in charge.
Then a few days later they go to Balaidos to face Celta Vigo.
Like last season, the league is asymmetrical and they will finish the campaign against Eibar at Ipurua, on May 23 - coronavirus allowing.
