Barcelona sign Austrian talent Yusuf Demir on loan

Barcelona have struck to sign a young Austrian talent in Yusuf Demir, a player they have been interested in for a while. They have loaned him with a non obligatory option to buy of 10 million euros. That’s a way of making sure they can do the deal when their financial position may be a little better.

The loan is 500,000 euros. Demir is 18, has debuted for the national team and played 31 games with Rapid Viena, scoring six goals and providing four assists. He has played four games in the Europa League.

He’s predominantly left footed and able to work across the attack. 

Barca were waiting for him to turn 18, on July 2, to sign him to be able to get him without needing to move his parents too. He’s been announced as a B team signing but will likely take pre-season with the first team.
