The 15-year-old made his first team debut last week but will soon join up with Spain

Lamine Yamal may not play any more minutes with the FC Barcelona's first team this season. The Spanish Football Federation has included the young star in the Spain sqd for the U-17 European Championship to be held in Hungary from 17 May to 2 June 2023. It is great news for the promising player and puts the icing on the cake of an extremely special week for him. He will be accompanied by Héctor Fort, Pau Cubarsí, Pau Prim, Juan Hernández and Marc Guiu from Barça.

The Spain team will start preparation for the continental tournament from the 8th of May, that is, next Monday. Lamine and his teammates will be in Las Rozas until 16 May, when they will travel to Hungary to arrive in perfect condition for the debut against Italy scheduled for the 18th (20.00). Bearing in mind that the Barça squad will not return to training to prepare for the derby against Espanyol until Tuesday 5 May, Yamal will not return to training under the orders of Xavi until after the European Championship.

As reported by 'Jijantes', however, this does not mean that Lamine will not be back until next season. The attacker has the chance to make his debut this weekend with Barça Atlètic: he has trained this Thursday morning under the orders of Rafa Márquez and aims to make the list of the reserve team against Eldense.
