Barcelona saving 23 million euros on Philippe Coutinho's salary

Philippe Coutinho’s time at Barcelona has reached its end. The Brazilian is an Aston Villa player now, with a 20m sale to the Midlands club.

It’s not just the cost of the transfer that Barcelona earn. But also the 23 million euros of his salary that they will not now have to pay the player.

Coutinho was among the 10 top paid players in the squad. It gives Barcelona a little more breathing room for next season.

Their financial position is in very poor shape and they need to let other players go to keep being able to spend money on new players this summer.
