The club strongly deny any form of corruption is going on at Camp Nou

Barcelona have released a statement after former vice president Emili Rousaud claimed "someone had their hand in the till" and was taking the club's money.

Rousaud's comments came after he and five other board members stepped down on Thursday due to disagreements over the club's management.

Barça responded to Rousaud's serious allegations via a statement on Friday and they also addressed the resignations.

The full statement:

"In light of the serious and unfounded allegations made this morning, FC Barcelona categorically deny any action that could be described as corruption, and therefore reserve the right to take the necessary legal action.

"In this regard, the audit relating to the contraction of social media monitoring services is being undertaken independently by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). The audit is still ongoing and therefore without conclusions. The club has facilitated all the information that PWC has requested since the beginning of the process.

"Finally, the resignations of members of the board has resulted from the reshuffle of the board proposed by president Josep Maria Bartomeu this week. The reshuffle will be completed in the coming days. It aims to guarantee maximum stability in order to implement the necessary measures necessary to prepare for the club's future, overcoming the consequences of the health crisis we are experiencing, and to carry out the strategic plan which was approved in 2015."
