Barcelona are pushing hard to sign the Badajoz left-back Edu Sánchez

The Catalan club want to strengthen the full-back positions in the reserve team this summer

Barcelona Atlètic are making progress in negotiations to bring in Edu Sánchez, a left-back from Badajoz who is coming to the end of his contract. Edu Sánchez, 18, is a full-back with great attacking projection who recently made his debut with the Spanish national team in said age group.

In his first season in Primera RFEF, Edu Sánchez played 20 games after coming through the youth ranks of the Extremadura club.

The season has been busy for him. In January, he already had an offer to sign for CD Leganes. The Pepineros would have paid around €400,000 for 50% of the left-back's rights from Badajoz. Sporting Gijon also bid for the player, who finally stayed where he was.

Edu Sánchez is a native of Navalmoral de la Mata and his mother is Cuban.

He would be the second left-back because this week Barcelona presented Gerard Martín for the reserve team, coming from Cornellà. Gerard Martín can also play as a central defender.
