Barcelona pressing Samuel Umtiti to leave before June 30

| sport

Barça are pushing to make things happen before June 30 in the market. The Blaugrana need to make money and generate savings as soon as possible to be able to register players and has urged Samuel Umtiti's entourage to start making a decision on his future. They have offers and hope that in less than 15 days they can resolve the matter.

The first Blaugrana sale points to Clement Lenglet moving to Tottenham, for whom they are negotiating a lower transfer fee in exchange for saving the player's entire wage bill for the next three years. It is virtually certain that an agreement will be reached next week as the player has already agreed to a long-term contract in London.

As for Umtiti, the Blaugrana club knows that negotiations were advanced with Olympique Lyon and an Italian club, but the emergence of teams from Saudi Arabia could slow down the process. Barca have given the French centre-back freedom of choice as long as the deal falls within certain parameters: they want income from the sale and the full termination of his contract until 2026.

Umtiti, who spent a few days on holiday in Barcelona, does not want to make mistakes when chosing his new destination and will take his time, but he is also clear that Barça are not counting on him and will not take him on the pre-season tour under any circumstances. The pressure is beginning to be raised because the Blaugrana already have little time. The next 15 days should be decisive for the departures.
