Barcelona players fed up of constant furore around Messi's contract

The dressing room are bored of the drama and confident the Argentine will renew his terms

The Barcelona dressing room is running out of patience with the constant stream of comments surrounding Lionel Messi's contract renewal. The players have watched on surprised at the noise which has been generated and feel there's no reason for anymore comments. Messi is in talks with the club, following his own 'timing' and the constant doubts and warning signs are viewed as excessive.

Reality suggests that Messi is happy with his teammates and feels comfortable in the team. He's the leader and there are no doubts that he wants to stay. His behaviour both in training and in matches goes in line with that idea, so the controversy which has been created is difficult to understand. In this sense, the players have also disliked the club's management of the situation and the decision to remove Pere Gratacos from his role as a director. They feel it only added fuel to the fire. The players are not comfortable having to give explanations, as Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano had to after the Las Palmas game.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu said before that match that he would take control of the situation personally and that talks with Messi's people have started. The player himself, at least, has not seemed affected by the constant furore surronding his contract situation, with his current terms due to expire in 2018.
