Barcelona players apologise after Halloween fun goes wrong

Barcelona players have apologised after they disrupted Getafe's press conference on Saturday night.

Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique and Neymar were among the first-teamers who dressed up in Halloween costumes and ran in screaming during midfielder Victor Rodriguez's session with the media.

The squad says they weren't trying to upset Getafe, didn't mean to disturb the press conference and are conscious of their responsabilities as Barcelona players.

Here is their full statement:

After the reaction provoked by the way we celebrated our victory and the good moment of the team coinciding with Halloween night, the FC Barcelona first team squad wishes to state that:

1) In no case was our intention to offend or annoy our colleagues at Getafe Football Club.

2) The entrance to the mixed zone coinciding with Victor Rodriguez's press conference was an unfortunate and involuntary coincidence for which we personally apologise and wish to express to him our respect. The images filmed of this moment show that one of our players literally said: 'Where are we going? We've made a mistake.'

3) The club is conscious of the responsibility that being an FC Barcelona player implies and want to give our apologies to anyone who has felt offended, especially members of the team and fans of Getafe. Our commitment is unwavering with the fans and members of FC Barcelona, who should be able to feel proud of this team off the pitch as well.
