Barcelona player ratings: Suarez doubles down on Las Palmas

The Uruguayan scored twice as Barça moved within two points of Madrid, who play Sevilla on Sunday

Barcelona player ratings from their La Liga win over Las Palmas at Camp Nou (5-0).

Ter Stegen (7) Finally able to enjoy a relaxed game. The little work he has to do he did well.

Aleix Vidal (8) Played as if he's a regular, confidently and without doubts. Took the right decisions and was involved in the build up to the first goal and crowned his performance with his first goal for Barça.

Mascherano (6) His performance was slightly conditioned by picking up an early yellow card. Grew in the second half and was the natural leader in Pique's absence.

Umtiti (7) The French defender has had no problems fitting in at BArcelona. Hardly every loses the ball and transmits confidence.

Jordi Alba (7) Was like a left winger and had little to do in defence. Didn't miss Neymar and linked well with Arda Turan.

Sergio Busquets (7) Getting back to his best and was even able to create chances here. Took a break in the second half with the game won.

André Gomes (6) Played well but will be disappointed not to have scored his first Barcelona goal. Set up Suarez's opener but then missed two great chances before being replaced by Rakitic.

Rafinha (7) Created two of the goals and will take confidence from back-to-back starts.

Messi (8) As active as usual, making the play and scoring goals. After a good first half, he scored for the seventh consecutive game when Javi Varas failed to deal with Rafinha's pass. Could have scored more, but ran the game.

Arda Turan (8) Technically in Neymar's position on the wing, he dropped inside and helped out in midfield a lot. Ran up and down and scored, too, taking his tally to the season to 12.

Luis Suárez (9) Opened the scoring with a classic striker's finish and scored a second with another smart finish. An example in efficiency. Luis Enrique took him off for a break for the last 30 minutes and he was given a standing ovation from the Camp Nou crowd.

Substitutes:

Rakitic (5) Fired one free kick into the wall in a 30 minute appearance.

Paco Alcácer (6) Little by little he's improving. Set up Vidal's goal but missed a chance of his own.

Mathieu (6) Returned from injury after over two months out of action.
