Barcelona player ratings after defeat by Deportivo de la Coruna
Luis Enrique's side struggled at the Riazor, falling 2-1 with Luis Suarez's goal one of the few bright points
Mark-Andre ter Stegen 5 - Made a mistake for Depor’s first goal, not keeping hold of a ball that seemed simple. Could do nothing about the second and stopped them from netting a third in injury time.
Javier Mascherano 6 - The 3-4-3 turns him into a right-back. Alert and didn’t suffer too much in defence.
Gerard Pique 7 - Led the defence and was good when it came to creation of the play. Ended the game as a striker as Barcelona looked for goals.
Jordi Alba 5 - Penalised for the second goal when he didn’t jump up to compete with Bergantinos.
Sergi Roberto 6 - The best chance of Barcelona in the first half came from him, when his cross was just intercepted.
Sergio Busquets 6 - Balanced in defence, rarely losing the ball and when he had it found team-mates well.
Andre Gomes 4 - The Portuguese starts well but soon faded, not taking risks in attack. Taken off for Rakitic.
Leo Messi 5 - Found it hard to get into advantageous situations. Always surrounded by rivals. Played a long way from the box. Improved in the second half but gave away too many balls.
Denis Suarez 6 - Offered himself for the ball and did well on the right side, looking for one on one situations. Helped create Suarez’s goal.
Luis Suarez 6 - Hardly had opportunities in the first half but started the second in the best way possible, a ‘killer’ goal rammed home inside the area after the ball bounced back to him.
Arda Turan 5 - Far from his best. Worked hard but in Neymar’s position he couldn’t connect with Messi and Luis Suarez. Taken off for Iniesta.
