Barcelona pessimistic about chances of moving on Umtiti in summer
The French defender's fitness issues could prevent a move at the end of the season
Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti signed a new contract with the club in January until 2026 to enable Ferran Torres to be registered with LaLiga.
Umtiti's current deal was up in 2023 but he extended to spread out the payments and give Barça more room within their current spending limit.
However, Barça's idea is that the Frenchman, who has only played one game this season, leaves in the summer. But the coaches believe that will be complicated because Umtiti is aware that an exit will highlight his physical problems.
Therefore, there is pessimism about what happens with Umtiti.
