Barcelona one step away from finalising the signing of Yerry Mina

Colombia international Yerry Mina could be a Barcelona player in the coming days. The Palmeiras defender is all set to fly to the Catalan city to undergo a medical ahead of his presentation as a Barça player. 

That's the information coming from Colombian journalist Diego Rueda on social media. Rueda has learned of the advancement in the negotiations between Barça and Palmeiras, who own part of the player's economic rights. 

According to his information, all that is lacking is for Mina to sign a series of documents before traveling to Barcelona next week to have a medical and be presented. He will not travel to Spain alone, but with his agent and uncles, Jair Mina, and with one of his lawyers. 

The final cost of the deal could be as high as 12 million euros, depending on the variables, according to sources close to the negotiations. Barça will have to pay a slight premium for bringing the move forward from the summer. 

With Javier Mascherano set to move to China, Mina will be a direct replacement for the Argentine. He will compete for a place in Ernesto Valverde's side with Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen. 

Sources consulted by SPORT at Barcelona have confirmed that talks are progressing and that it's just a matter of finalising things and closing the deal officially.
