The new coach is currently at Al Sadd and Barca have to negotiate his exit

Barcelona’s vice president Rafa Yuste and director of football, Mateu Alemany are travelling to Qatar to seal the arrival of Xavi Hernandez as the team’s next coach per RAC1.

They headed to the airport in the morning on Wednesday to fly to Doha to negotiate with Al-Sadd. Joan Laporta is not travelling.

The president, who was in Kyiv last night has delegated this task to his staff. The likelihood is Xavi being announced on Thursday or Friday as Barcelona’s new coach. If there are delays then it could go on until next week.

In any case, Xavi will not be coaching the team on Saturday, which will be Sergi Barjuan’s last match in charge as interim coach.
