Josep Vives, Barça's spokesman, has revealed the Catalan club's side of the story

Barcelona spokesman Josep Vives has responded to the stories claiming that the club turned down a 300 million euro offer from Mediapro for Camp Nou's naming rights.

Vives confirmed the talks with the company but said that "the offer was not in writing and they wanted to pay in installments and without interest. It was inviable.

"When Barça's members approved the Espai Barça project, it was with the idea that 200 million from the naming rights before the work began. Mediapro wanted to pay the money over 20 years."

Barça hope to sell the naming rights for Camp Nou for at least 200 million. An agreement is hoped to be in place before the summer.
