Barcelona give the nod to Ansu Fati joining Wolves

Barça and its sporting department are working hard to make a major sale before June 30. And today all efforts are focused on Ansu Fati. Wolverhampton's proposal, 30 million euros plus Rúben Neves, is liked at Barca and they are waiting for the player to define his position although Ansu is very reluctant to leave.

The formal offer received by Barça has been in the pipeline for some time from agent Jorge Mendes. Ansu's agent is clear that the player must leave the Blaugrana now due to his lack of prominence and has tried to stir up the market in recent months. His aim was to bring Ansu to a Premier League giant, but his enquiries with Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea and Arsenal have not borne fruit.

Faced with this situation, Mendes turned his strategy to work out a deal with Wolverhampton, a club he 'controls' to perfection. And in order to make it financially attractive for Barça, he included Rúben Neves in the pot. In terms of numbers, Ansu's departure could bring in around 70 million euros for Barça - 30 in cash and 40 in the valuation that would be made of Rúben Neves for his signing.

Barça understands that this is a more than reasonable price to give Ansu a free pass and would accept the arrival of Rúben Neves. It is true that the Portuguese does not fit perfectly with Xavi Hernandez's plans, but it is a club operation and the coach will have no choice but to accept it in the event that everything is signed. The options to seal such an important sale are slim and the club is keen to move forward.

Jorge Mendes is trying to convince Ansu and his entourage that Wolverhampton is a good option. It would be an intermediate destination for him to land in the Premier League as an undisputed starter and his cache can recover. The idea is that in one or two years, the striker could land at a big Premier League side if his adaptation is good. In spite of everything, the player is very reticent and wants to talk to Xavi when the season is over.

Xavi is scheduled to hold a summit with several players who are due to leave after June. And Ansu is one of them. The coach will have to clarify his situation to him and from there the way to a departure would be paved. Barça are in a hurry and hope that everything can be resolved in a matter of weeks.
