Barcelona negotiating over striker Arthur Cabral
The Basel forward could solve problems for Xavi's Barcelona from January
Arthur Cabral is in pole position to become the No 9 Barcelona are interested in, in the winter window. The Brazilian, 23, would fit the profile that the technical team are looking for.
He’s a killer in the box, with an impressive physique (1m 86 and weighs 86kg), and has a strong shot. He’s also great in the air and can finish with both feet, although his right is his natural foot. He’s a reference point in the team, superb in the box and he can link play when out of it.
His numbers at Basel, where he arrived from Palmeiras in 2019, are spectacular. He has scored 23 goals and got 8 assists in 24 games this season.
His name comes with backing from Deco, responsible for scouting for Barcelona in Brazil and Portugal. Cabral could be the right piece of the puzzle for Barcelona.
SPORT have learned negotiations are open for him to arrive in January. The formula is being worked on.
His contract expires in June 2023, so Basel are willing to sell him. He would cost 15-20 million euros.
The player would love to play at Barcelona. He was recently called up to the Brazil squad by Tite.
