Barcelona multiple Joao Felix's tiny starting salary by 10

There was much talk, weeks ago, about Joao Félix's symbolic salary at Barça. Cadena 'COPE' reported that the Portuguese had landed at Barcelona for 400,000 euros gross. This Wednesday, Barça's own economic vice-president, Eduard Romeu, confirmed it in a round of interviews to several media. The striker's wage bill, however, will be substantially increased in the coming days.

According to Catalunya Ràdio, Barça have modified Joao Félix's payments, and he will now receive around four million euros gross, i.e. an amount 10 times higher than initially stipulated. It should be borne in mind that, for the purposes of 'fair play', LaLiga already computed the Catalan club with a salary of four million euros gross for the Portuguese winger, as the Employers' Association makes its minimum estimate regardless of the specific agreement between club and player.

In this way, the attacker now has a salary that is much more in line with his cache, as with the initial 400,000 euros gross, he was clearly the lowest-paid player in the first team.

According to the report, Barça asked the player to accept this amount at first, but with the promise to raise it when the "economic availability" allowed it. Two months into the season, the club has kept its word and Félix, who has also made a financial effort to join Barça, has already seen his salary increased.
